Three leagues - 20+ teams
For the first time, the tournament will include the organisation of three parallel competitions:
- a competitive league
- a recreational league
- a newbies league.
The newbies league will be restricted to players with less than 15 months of practice of waterpolo and for whom Eurochamps Brussels 2019 would be the first or second international tournament. This league is meant to give a first taste of competition for newbies and players with limited experienced. If the number of newbies from one city is not enough to make a team, mixed team will be created.
When registering, the players are asked to define in which league they want to take part.
The programme of the tournament will be validated in September when the number of participating teams will be confirmed.
Day one - Round Robin (1 November)
On day one, each league would be separated into groups. Each team would play three or four games, providing by the end of the day a ranking of the teams in each group. Crossing games could take place on the first day too.
On this first day, games would last 2*7 minutes with no interruptions.
Day two - Final rounds (2 November)
On day two, the final round would take place with the end of crossing games and the games for the ranking in each league.
On this second day, crossing games would be 2*7 minutes and the finals games would be longer lasting 4*6 minutes.
EXTRA fun at the pool
Beyond the waterpolo competition, the programme will includes breaks to organise individual/team sportive and artistic competitions. These additional friendly competitions will offer an opportunity for everyone to shine during the tournament!
More information on that part coming soon!
